Global Flagship Store
What if the future of commerce was about social connections? Saguez & Dash helped Huawei create its first world flagship in Shenzhen. More than just a store, it’s a three-story, 1,300 m² piece of relational architecture. Half auditorium, half staircase, half theater, half agora… It is located in one of the city's most bustling pedestrian areas, where the agency designed a gathering place open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The indoor-outdoor agora staircase connects the public square and the store's interior, creating a borderless communal atmosphere. Visitors enter freely to relax, people-watch, work, learn, eat, have a coffee, meet, and connect with others.
This flagship resembles a transparent cocoon. The facade, featuring large glass panels with rounded corners—sometimes three-dimensional—was realized in collaboration with Arcora, a design engineering firm. Eleven-meter-tall glass panels ensure unobstructed views while providing resistance to typhoons. Inside, the walls and ceilings are covered with felt panels made from recycled plastic bottles.
